Comcare training courses are ACTU courses, approved by Comcare under section 72 of the Commonwealth WHS Act 2011.

As a HSR you are entitled to attend training with a provider of your choice, in consultation with your Person Business or Undertaking (PCBU).

Commonwealth Work Health and Safety

> 2019 Commonwealth Course Enrolment Form & Enrolment Policy, the HSR and Employer are required to sign and return the enrolment policy with the enrolment form.

General Information

HSR's are entitled under the WHS Regulations and outlined in section 72 of the WHS Act to attend a course of training in work health and safety that is approved by the regulator.

A one-day refresher training is offered and applicable to all HSRs, 12 months after they have completed either a five-day initial course.

If you are a newly elected HSR you will need to complete the 5 day Initial training.


Target Group

Elected Health and Safety Representatives.

Course Content
Refresher courses are tailored to build knowledge related to specific legislative and HSR skills development and provide an overview of the learning outcomes covered in the five day initial training.

 One day, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm

Course fee per Day - $331 GST Inc




Cancellation Policy
When an enrolment is cancelled the following cancellation fees will apply.  This can be waived if another course date is booked.

More than 14 days before course commencement date = Full refund
Between 7-14 days before commencement date = 50% refund
Less than 7 days = No refund



The Course Fee includes

  • Participant manual (with copy of the WHS Act 2011)

  • Light lunch provided daily (for full day attendance) (unless regional course)
