Re-elected Health and Safety Representative Courses

Health and Safety Representative training for representatives in their second and subsequent terms of office.

SafeWork SA has approved the following one day courses to be delivered by SA Unions.  Courses can be attended as a 5 day block or on an individual day basis.

  • Investigations - Day 3

  • Policy - Day 4

  • Safe Workers - Day 4

  • Fitness for Work - Day 5

SA Unions is an approved provider of Health and Safety Representative training under the WHS Act.

For Health and Safety Representatives in their second and subsequent terms of office.


 

Course Description

RE-ELECTED HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE COURSE

Health and Safety Representative training for representatives in their second and subsequent terms of office.
 

 

Target Group

Elected Health and Safety Representatives and Deputy Health and Safety Representatives.
  

 

Course Content

The course complies with SafeWork SA Guidelines on content and covers -

  • WHS Refresher
    refresh and update to any changes in legislation
    review of legislative framework, and any amendments
    duties of PCBU
    discussion and networking
    update skills on how to promote continuous improvement in workplace

  • WHS Safety Interactions/Consultation Processes
    refresher of the role of the HSR in relation to consultation
    explore how a HSR can also influence safety culture through safety interactions and conversations in the workplace

  • WHS Investigations
    a fundamental overview of inspections and incident investigation models and how HSRs may contribute to these processes
    discuss opportunity for HSRs to be involved in proactive investigations including inquiring into WHS raised by the work group, near miss investigations and workplace inspections, as well as incident investigation

  • WHS Policy
    provide information about the policies and procedures required within a workplace and how a HSR and their work groups can be involved in the development and implementation of these policies and procedures

  • WHS Fitness for Work
    fitness for work and how a HSR can contribute to workplace practices, environments and work arrangements that may prevent negative influences on workers’ fitness for work

Course Fee

Five Days (If booking made for 5 days in one year)

Standard Fee $935 (inc GST)

Union Members $875 (inc GST)

 

One Day (single day bookings)

Standard Fee $194 (inc GST)

Union Member $184 (inc GST) 

 

Union discount only applies to unions affiliated to SA Unions

 

 

The Course Fee includes

  • Participant manual

  • Light lunch provided daily (unless regional course)

 

Course Subsidies

Subsidies for Health and Safety Representatives of $50 per participant per day on course fees are available through a SafeWork SA grant.

SafeWork SA can advise of the eligibility of your business for a subsidy.

Eligibility categories -

  • small business - up to 100 or fewer employees

  • High Risk Industry

  • High Risk Occupations

Note : Exempt Employers are not eligible for these subsidies

 

 

Cancellation

Cancellation Policy
When an enrolment is cancelled the following cancellation fees will apply.  This can be waived if another course date is booked.

More than 14 days before course commencement date = Full refund
Between 7-14 days before commencement date = 50% refund
Less than 7 days = No refund
